Accessory Glass 2 by Corning® is an alkali-aluminosilicate thin sheet glass that is designed specifically for screen protector applications. With its core composition and optimized ion-exchange chemical strengthening process, Accessory Glass 2 by Corning® screen protectors provide superior performance versus screen protectors made from traditional soda-lime glass or film. During ion exchange, larger ions from the molten bath replace smaller ions within the glass, creating a deep compression layer on the surface of the glass. This compression layer acts as “armor”, giving the glass:
- High resistance to scratch and sharp contact damage.
- 3-5x better drop performance over traditional soda-lime glass or film.
- Superior surface quality and clarity.
ULTRA-SLIM 0.2MM PROFILE
Due to the added strength of Accessory Glass 2 by Corning®, our Prime screens are produced at an ultra-thin 0.2mm! When compared to our top-rated Ballistic Glass, which is 50% thicker at 0.3mm, Prime screens offer a nearly invisible barrier of protection without compromising strength, clarity or touchscreen response.
Note: Tablet Prime Glass screens are still produced at 0.3mm
